Our aim is to make you feel as comfortable as possible at your consultation appointment. You will be welcomed with a beverage of your choice which you can choose from a menu. We would like to learn as much about you as possible to ensure your dental treatment can suit your needs. You will fill out a dental and medical history questionnaire, allowing you to give us as much information as possible about any previous dental treatments you may have received.
This is a relax and massage room. The combination of the massage chair, tranquil décor and burning lavender oils will help to calm any nerves before the Dentist takes you into the treatment room.
The Dentist carries out an extensive and in depth examination to find out as much as possible about your mouth. The first thing the dentist will do is an Oral Cancer Screening, which is part of the routine dental assessment. The dentist will then inspect each tooth as an individual, having a look at any old fillings and crowns ensuring they are stable, and looking out for any signs of possible decay. The next step is to assess your gums, looking out for pocketing, plaque and calculus. The dentist also assesses your tooth brushing habits to see what tips our in-house hygienist could give you to help improve your oral hygiene.
At the Covent Garden Dental Spa, we have all the latest gadgets and technologies which help to make this as interesting and exciting an experience as possible. The intra-oral camera is a great tool to help promote interactive treatment planning. We use this to take videos and pictures of your mouth, so it is like taking ‘3D’ guided tour of your mouth as the images come up on the overhead patient screen. The educational aspect is what gives value to your consultation.
The Dentist will assess whether or not radiographs (X-rays) are necessary, also assessing your suitability for radiography. We use digital radiography, so the images come up instantly on the overhead patient screen. This allows the Dentist to point out anything of relevance such as decay. Digital radiographs also have the added advantage of requiring less radiographic exposure.
The Dentist will show you pictures and radiographs of your teeth, thus allowing you to fully understand your treatment needs. This allows for an in depth interactive discussion, thus allowing you to help the dentist formulate a treatment
plan which best suits you. The dentist will also discuss all treatment options which are available to you.
We understand that some dental treatment options can be heavier on the pocket than others, for instance Implants and Orthodontics. We are here to help by formulating payment options that will best suit you. One of the options available is Finance – this could be Interest Free or Interest Bearing Credit, depending on which you prefer. Our treatment plan co-ordinator will discuss this with you in more detail.
Members of our Dental Spa also receive great discounts and free treatments.
We will then book appointments for you to have the necessary dental treatment with the Dentist, Hygienist, Orthodontist or any of our In-House Specialists at a time that best suits you.
We accommodate the busy Londoner’s work schedule by booking appointments from 8:30 am, we provide late night appointments till 19:00. We will work later by special arrangement. You may wish to combine your appointment with a little retail therapy, so you have the option of booking your appointment on a Saturday morning.
