COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Cosmetic Dentistry can be treatment using any of the following:

1. Whitening

This is the treatment using a peroxide based gel to make the teeth look lighter brighter and cleaner.

2. Tooth reshaping

Enameloplasty is the procedure which involves removing enamel to change the shape of the tooth to give it a better cosmetic appearance.

3. Addition of dental material to the teeth – for example cosmetic composite bonded fillings, veneers or crowns.

These restorations will involve preparation of the teeth so that the new restorations have the desired shape and size.

4. Gum recontouring to change the shape of the gums

This treatment is carried out by the periodontist who raises and sculpts the gum line, thus giving the appearance of longer and more symmetrical teeth.

5. Movement of the teeth – for instance Orthodontics
