Your dental implants treatment steps
Step 1
At your initial consultation, we get to know you and your smile goals, and show you how dental implants can provide the results you’re after. We examine your teeth and gums, and take a digital x-ray to view the bone under your gums to make sure you are suitable for implants. We also give you the chance to ask any questions.
Step 2
We carefully plan your treatment, using information from your digital x-rays and scans to determine the optimum positions for your dental implants. If you have insufficient bone levels in your jaw, preparatory treatment such as a bone graft may be required at this stage.
Step 3
Your implant surgery is carried out by our expert implant dentist. We use local anaesthetic to minimise your discomfort, and also offer IV sedation to help relax you if you’re feeling particularly worried. A small socket is created in your bone, your titanium implant is screwed into this and your gum is stitched back over the top. It takes around 3-6 months for your implant to heal and fuse with your bone, so we fit a temporary restoration to protect your gum.
Step 4
When your implant(s) are fully healed, we fit your final custom-made crown or bridge to truly complete your smile – it’s time to start showing it off!
